A photo archive for every place

Every placehas more thanone time.

Photos gather, and a place remembers. Old street scenes, holiday snapshots, everyday local views — open a place's book and trace it across the years.

The concept

One place, many eras.

One photo is one person's memory. In Remiscape every place keeps a single book, and photos taken there gather across the decades. The same town looks different in every year it was photographed. Old photos from a family album belong here too — you only need to know the town.

Trace

Turn the pages of a place's book

A place page is a book. One post fills one page, and you swipe sideways to read on. Pages follow the order the photos were taken, so you can watch the place change.

  • One post, one page — turn to read
  • Sort by photo date or newest post
  • Jump straight to a year

Keep

All you need is the town

Pick your photos, choose the town, and say roughly when they were taken. No exact spot or date needed — "around 1994" or "the 1980s" is enough. Scanned family photos can carry a credit, too.

  • Up to 4 photos per post
  • Date, month, year, decade — or unknown
  • Location precision: exact, approximate, or town only

Grow

Remi — how many years a place holds

Every place's book carries a number called Remi: how many different years it has photos from. Add a photo from a year that isn't recorded yet, and the place gains 1 Remi. However many photos share a year, that year counts once. Your one photo widens a place's memory.

  • Remi = distinct years with photos
  • See at once when your post adds a new year
  • Rankings by town

Privacy first

You decide what the map shows.

Photos are personal. Remiscape is designed so that keeping a photo never means giving away more than you intend.

Three levels of location

Choose exact spot, approximate area, or town only for each post. A town-only post publishes no coordinates and appears in the book under the town's name alone.

EXIF stripped on delivery

Metadata in your photos is used only to suggest dates and places while composing. Delivered images have EXIF removed automatically.
